STAR Foundation Founder
Barbara Findeisen was the driving force behind STAR for decades. From her early insight into prenatal and perinatal psychology to her exploration of the most recent advances in neuroscience, Barbara was always a lifelong student. As she traveled the world to meet with and learn from the thought leaders in psychology, spirituality, and neuroscience, she correspondingly updated STAR to incorporate her newfound knowledge.
Barbara has lectured nationally and internationally for nearly forty years and has been invited to address national audiences on radio and television. Her contributions to the world of prenatal and perinatal psychology have been seminal, particularly in the area of helping adults heal early trauma, including birth. She served as the president of the Association of Prenatal and Perinatal Psychology and Health (APPPAH) and was chair of a number of their international congresses.
A graduate of Stanford University, Barbara is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and continues her private practice and workshops.
