"As a mental health professional who has made a number of referrals of clients for intensive interventions, I have not found another program that comes so close in creating such a safe and nurturing cradle of support to individuals that need this very personal and competent attention and follow through. At the very core of this process is the genius of its founder, Barbara Findeisen who has finely tuned this retreat experience over the years with the able assistance of a staff of gifted and grounded facilitators who enhance clarity, integration and optimal healing."

Bruce H. Lipton, PhD is an internationally recognized leader in bridging science and spirit. He has been a guest speaker on hundreds of TV and radio shows, as well as keynote presenter for national and international conferences. Dr. Lipton began his scientific career as a cell biologist receiving his Ph.D. Degree from the University of Virginia. His research at Stanford University's School of Medicine revealed that the personal environment to which a person is exposed controls the behavior and physiology of the cell, thus turning genes on and off. Such discovery, that genes are controlled by one's environment, ran counter to the established scientific view that life is controlled by the genes. Many subsequent papers by other researchers have since validated his concepts and ideas. His book, The Biology of Belief, summarizes his findings.

Prompted by the attempted rape and murder of a female colleague in 1981, Mr. Mendizza embarked on The Betrayal of Intimacy, an independent research and public awareness project founded to prevent sexual violence. As a documentary filmmaker, he has traveled extensively researching sensitive issues, including: domestic violence and rape, cultural and human development, the changing family, and prenatal learning. He and his wife founded Touch the Future, a nonprofit learning design center, which has explored optimum learning, performance, and wellness. Working closely with Joseph Chilton Pearce and others, Michael developed a revolutionary parenting and coaching model that applies the psychology of optimum experience (what athletes call "the zone") to parenting and education.
Standing firmly on her own experience, Barbara and the STAR Program guide others through the midfield of thoughts and feelings formed long before the capacity to discriminate developed.
