STAR Anger Management Retreat

An anger management retreat at STAR allows you to discover and work with the underlying reasons for your anger. Anger is a powerful, and often frightening, feeling. It is a feeling that warns you something is wrong. It energizes you to act—positively or negatively. The problem with this feeling comes from what you have been taught about anger. Also, how you may have seen anger acted out on you or people close to you further complicates your relationship to anger. The challenge of dealing with anger is to learn how to express anger in a positive way. Used properly, the energy of anger can change the course of relationships in both private and public settings.

There is truth in anger. This truth is often lost in the explosion that may follow. Everyone knows the experience—when truth comes out in anger, the truth is somehow lost. That creates frustration and leads to more anger. Then, everyone involved is brought into a cycle of outburst, embarrassment, shame, followed by more anger. There is a positive way out of all of this. It is a way to connect with the genuine feeling of anger and safely release it. At STAR, we show you there is a way to speak your truth so it can be heard.

Dealing with unresolved anger

At STAR, you can begin dealing with your unresolved anger. We offer you the opportunity to connect with your anger and learn how to express it safely. You will find ways to communicate your truth which is embedded in the anger with a better chance of being heard. Beneath anger, there may be pain—pain from hurt, neglect, abuse, or abandonment. This pain fuels the anger most people feel. At STAR there is a way to begin to heal that pain. The process isn’t a quick fix. It involves your changing the way you live your life from the inside out. From this, you will develop a genuine sense of personal power. You have the power within your heart, underneath the pain and the anger. At STAR, you will be moving toward dealing with the once unresolved anger, and consciously and effectively acting to change it into a positive force in your life.

In the safety of the anger management retreat setting of the STAR Process, you can work with your new tools to speak your truth. You can test expressing your anger in new ways that allow for clearer communication.
